Oakflat Water Main Replacement Scheduled For December
The Bear Valley Community Services District has scheduled a replacement for the water main on Oakflat Drive between Bear Valley Road and Brian Place. Work is scheduled to begin December 2nd and is expected to last two weeks.
The mainline has experienced numerous leaks, and despite repair and patch jobs it continues to spring new leaks. A full replacement is needed to stop them for good.
Oakflat Drive will be closed to through traffic from Bear Valley Road to Brian Place during construction hours. Residents whose driveways are in the construction zone will be allowed through, and construction teams will assist in getting you through the area safely.
Water to homes on Oak Flat will only be affected for a few hours on a single day. Affected homeowners will be notified directly when the outage is scheduled.
In October, the CSD Board of Directors gave its approval to seek emergency bids for the replacement. At the November 14 meeting, the board gave final approval to a $179,000 bid from Elite Constructors, Inc, well under the $230,000 staff estimate.
